Our government manages a master list of DMW-accredited manning agencies (formerly POEA). It’s all made available online and free to access.

Illegal recruiters often prey on unsuspecting seafarers. Thus, knowing if an agency is well registered in the POEA/ DMW database is the first step to thwart them.

Many of these companies advertise their hiring programs on the internet. Because of this, seafarers turn to apps and websites to find them online.

I made a comprehensive list of manning agencies that will help identify if an agency is legal or not. Since there are more than 350 of them across the country, I arranged them by area.

Furthermore, I organized them in alphabetical order so it’s easier to navigate.

MAKATI CITY

Makati holds the most number of accredited manning agencies totaling 88 in the city. So aside from being known as the business capital of Mega Manila, Makati could also be the manning agencies’ capital of the Philippines.

If you plan on applying for your first or next company, this place is a good start. Looking over the map and seeing which agencies are close by will save you a lot of time and energy.

The list includes all recruitment agencies licensed by POEA/ DMW  to recruit Filipino workers for sea-based jobs. Some of these agencies recruit for the largest shipping companies on earth.

Please note that the licenses of these agencies could expire or be revoked if they violate some rules. Hence, it is still best to visit the official DMW website for the daily update of this list.

Additionally, be very careful when applying to shipping companies. Always check if their POEA/ DMW license is still valid or if they have one.

Any manning agencies asking you for placement fees or any form of payment is a red flag. Do not engage with them and report them to POEA/ DMW.
